IMPRESSIONS: DUO HELMKE//GROSSMANN AT HEIDELBERG CENTRAL STATION, 20 YEARS OF UNESCO CONVENTION

Genau am 22.07.2025 haben wir gemeinsam mit dem Kulturamt Heidelberg ein ganz besonderes Jubiläum gefeiert:

20 Jahre UNESCO-Konvention über den Schutz und die Förderung der Vielfalt kultureller Ausdrucksformen.

Jazz im Duo Helmke//Großmann in der historischen Banhofshalle Heidelberg - Mehrere hundert  Leute, die während der Rush Hour vorbeieilten und doch ein zumindest kurzes Jazz-Lächeln fanden, andere die kurz bei uns swingend verweilten bis es zum Zug ging. Andere blieben und genossen mit uns die unfassbare Akustik der Bahnhofshalle - Was für ein Sound! Man konnte die Halle sprichwörtlich wie ein Instrument anspielen und in Schwingung bringen und wieder abklingen lassen. Wie wunderbar, dass es etwas wie die UNESCO gibt! Wir danken dem Kulturamt Heidelberg für dieses besondere Erlebnis!

On July 22, 2025, we celebrated a very special anniversary together with the Heidelberg Department of Culture:

20 years of the UNESCO Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions.

Jazz Duo Helmke//Grossmann in the historic Heidelberg train station hall –

Hundreds of people hurried past during rush hour, some catching at least a brief jazz smile as they passed, others pausing for a swinging moment before their train departed. And some stayed – and shared with us the incredible acoustics of the station hall. What a sound!

It truly felt as if the hall itself could be played like an instrument – set into resonance and gently brought to rest again. How wonderful that something like UNESCO exists!

A heartfelt thank you to the Heidelberg Department of Culture for this unforgettable experience.
