Django Vagabonds – Django Vagabonds – Manouche-Jazz zwischen Berlin, Paris und Puerto Rico

Django Vagabonds ist ein einzigartiges Trio in Europa. Drei Musiker, die sich in Herkunft, Generation und musikalischem Hintergrund deutlich unterscheiden, prägen den unverwechselbaren Sound der Band.
Da ist der junge puertoricanische Ausnahmemusiker Lemuel E. Luyando Flusa mit seinem besonderen Instrument, dem Cuatro. Tobias Santosh Großmann, der „Vielsaitige“ mit indisch-badischen Wurzeln, erweitert das Klangspektrum an der 7-saitigen Jazzgitarre. Und Uli Hoffmeier, Urberliner und Senior des Trios, ist seit fast 30 Jahren Mitglied des Palastorchesters mit seinem Sänger Max Raabe.
Django Vagabonds stehen für virtuosen Gypsy Jazz, leidenschaftlichen Swing und musikalische Begegnungen über Grenzen hinweg. Inspiriert von der Tradition des legendären Gitarristen Django Reinhardt verbinden die drei Musiker klassische Manouche-Elemente mit eigenen Klangfarben und kulturellen Einflüssen der puertoricanischen Jíbaro-Kultur.
Nuancen. Virtuosität trifft Spielfreude, Tradition trifft Gegenwart.
Jazzgitarre, das lateinamerikanische Saiteninstrument Cuatro, die klangliche Tiefe der 7-saitigen Gitarre und der pulsierende Rhythmus des europäischen Swing verschmelzen zu einem lebendigen, energiegeladenen Sound. Ihr Repertoire reicht von authentischen Interpretationen der 1920er- und 1930er-Jahre bis hin zu eigenen Arrangements mit überraschenden Nuancen. Virtuosität trifft Spielfreude, Tradition trifft Gegenwart.

Django Vagabonds – Manouche Jazz between Berlin, Paris and Puerto Rico

Django Vagabonds is a unique trio in Europe. Three musicians of distinctly different backgrounds, generations, and musical identities shape the unmistakable sound of the band.
DThere is the young Puerto Rican virtuoso Lemuel E. Luyando Flusa with his distinctive instrument, the Cuatro. Tobias Santosh Großmann, the “multi-string” guitarist with Indo-Badish roots, expands the harmonic spectrum on the 7-string jazz guitar. And Uli Hoffmeier, a native Berliner and the senior member of the trio, has been a member of the Palast Orchester with its singer Max Raabe for nearly 30 years.
Django Vagabonds stand for virtuosic Gypsy Jazz, passionate swing, and musical encounters beyond borders. Inspired by the tradition of the legendary guitarist Django Reinhardt, the three musicians combine classic Manouche elements with their own tonal colors and cultural influences drawn from Puerto Rican Jíbaro music.

Manouche guitar, the Latin American string instrument cuatro, the depth of the 7-string guitar, and the driving pulse of European swing merge into a vibrant and energetic sound.
Their repertoire ranges from authentic interpretations of the 1920s and 1930s to original arrangements with unexpected nuances. Virtuosity meets joy of playing. Tradition meets the present.
